Author Sonja Gunter is a Licensed Practical Nurse who relocated to Atlanta GA in 2014, after serving as President of the Women’s Entrepreneurs of America, Missouri chapter, where she brought women business owners together for networking events and community meetings.
Since moving to Atlanta, Sonja has served several nonprofit organizations in various capacities. She has had the privilege of serving as MC for a book launch, the host for an awards ceremony celebrating women on a mission, keynote speaker for a CNA graduation, sponsored and presented the Health and Wellness Award for the 8th Annual R.I.C.E (Rising In Community Excellence) Awards in Atlanta GA and most recently, wrote and published her first book entitled, Professional Traits of a Healthcare Leader: A Guide For Women Who Want to Level Up in Healthcare. Sonja is also the founder of an all-female led non-profit organization, The Pink Coat Coalition, whose mission is to educate the most underserved communities in and around the Atlanta area about various healthcare issues. In addition to that, Ms. Gunter started the Gunter Healthcare Leadership Academy which teaches those who are already in healthcare or interested in healthcare, how to become leaders in their respective areas.
Sonja’s years in nursing, her passion for helping others and her gift of public speaking, has created a platform that has given her an opportunity to provide education and resources on health-related matters to the communities that need it most. Sonja also uses this platform to uplift and empower women from all walks of life, especially those who suffer with self-identity issues due to her own experience with adoption and foster care.
Sonja is currently graduated with her degree in Healthcare Management and she is the proud mother of 3 children she birthed, many others she has been blessed to raise and is pleased to share she will become the grandmother of 2 in 2020.
